WHY VISIT PITSCOTTIE VALE?

Dura Den is one of the hidden beauty spots of Fife. The road winds for 2 miles through this wooded gorge, following the course of the Ceres burn.

Along the way are remains of jute
and linen mills, lades, weirs and waterfalls. The crags at the side of the road are famous world-wide for their fossils.

We are in an ideal position for touring eastern Fife while only 1 hour from Edinburgh and 20 minutes from Dundee.

Historic St.Andrews famous for its golf courses and wonderful beaches is close by.

The fascinating old University town also has many fine shops and an international range of places to eat and drink. Along the Forth coast are the picturesque East Neuk fishing villages of Crail, Anstruther and Pittenweem. Inland visit the market town of Cupar, Ceres with its folk museum and Falkland with its Palace which rank among the most attractive small towns in Scotland.

This is wonderful walking country with hill walks giving views across the River Forth to Edinburgh, coastal walks, country rambles and miles of beautiful beaches to stroll along. There are lots of delightful walks which you can take directly from our door.
